Home-made Chalkboard

I guess you could call it that!? I’ve used our chalkboard Decor Elements Sheet to create a one of a kind hostess gift for my stamp club meetings this month. PS: Kathy, I just tweaked your idea a little :-)

Here is what I made:

October hostess gift

This item started out as a clear picture frame that you can get like at Wally World… This one is for a 8x10 photo, so I simply cut a piece of DSP to size and slid it in. Then I added the ribbon, cut out the Top Note shape and Letter from the chalkboard Decor Elements Sheet and added to it. The “Marker” is by Expo and is a wet erase marker that can be used on white or dark surfaces, I found them at “HL”. I’ve attached the marker with Velcro… I also cut another Top Note shape, but this time from felt and sort of draped over the ribbon in the back. This way the ladies can simply wet the felt shape and use it to erase the messages…

These are super easy to make and everyone really liked them. Why don’t you add some chalkboard Decor Elements sheets to your next order so you can make some quick Christmas Gifts?

  1. Great to see this on your blog! I think the velcro to hold the marker is great idea! Where did you find the markers? I need those! :)
