"Someday" projects

Hi! I'm Sherri, a member of the Monday night club. I have been stamping with Claudia since 2005ish. Many years ago, Claudia presented a scrapbook project with the "summer sketches" simply scrappin' scrapbooking kit. We completed a 6x6 scrapbook, several greeting cards and still had leftovers for more projects. My plan was to use the scrapbook for vacation photos at the beach. Like many plans, that one never saw the light of day. But --- I still had a completed summery scrapbook for "someday."
One evening, Claudia showed me a recipe book project. She was using the 6x6 scrapbook and she and her demonstrators added to the recipes whenever they had a meeting. How cute -- recipes with Stampin Up decorations!! So my new project was to convert my summery scrapbook to a summery drink recipe book. Another "someday" project. The more I thought about it, the more I wanted the book to have cocktail-type pictures rather than beach scenes, so "someday" was still not happening.
Then Claudia introduced the blog idea -- a way to make a commitment so "someday" would finally arrive. I took out the scrapbook and started with the cover:
This project is from the club projects of May 2009. I adjusted the size of a greeting card to better fit the cover of the scrapbook. The stamp set is Cheers to You and the card stock colors are Riding Hood Red, Baja Breeze, Pink Pirouette, Pacific Point, Tangerine Tango and shimmery white.
Now, "someday" was on a roll so I decided to complete my first recipe page:
This was adapted from one of my favorite club projects, from August 2008. In the club project, Claudia stamped the greeting on the cup. I wanted to print the recipe on the cup. What a challenge! My printer would not print on the vellum card stock and I wanted the vellum, as it looked just like a fancy plastic cup. So I printed the recipe on plain white paper and taped it to the back of the vellum after sponging the right side of the vellum with real red ink. In addition to real red, I used green galore and whisper white card stock. The limes are from the Tart and Tangy stamp set.
I have lots of ideas now and can't wait to add more pages to my "new" recipe book! Thank you for giving me the opportunity to get moving!
Sherri
