Hi, Everyone. I'm Joy from Claudia's Tuesday Night Group. One of the things I love about stamping is that it can be whatever you want it to be. You can do simple cards and layouts or embellish everything to your heart's content. It's all good :-)
For this card I went the simple route. I used watercolor crayons (I love crayons, don't you?), reinkers, a circle punch for the faux scallop border and an embossing folder. I know the stamp I used is retired, but it is such a wonderful image, I can't let it go.
And Now For Something Completely Different (I just love Monty Python!)-
Crafting with Claudia (catchy phrase, don't ya think?) has led me to other forms of creating. Recently I started an art journal (visual diary). SU! has great items for art journaling. The newspaper DSP and distress kit are fabulous to create an old book feel. I also used MDS to create the woman ("All in the Family" brush set). I printed several images on Natural White (holds up better when using water and reinkers) with blank faces. This way I can choose the expression that fits best for what I'm journaling. The example is from a sad day, but there are plenty of happy day pages too! This page shows the DSP and the distress inks best. The rich blues are the Azul ink.
Well that's it for today. I've enjoyed sharing with you. Thanks, Claudia!
Claudia returns for the next post. I know she will have great ideas from the convention to inspire us.
Thanks for stopping by and Happy Crafting!

What a nice and balanced card! I think your art journal is a wonderful idea... Great use of distressing and MDS as well. Love the combo of both worlds!
ReplyDeleteThis a very cute card. Love the stamp and how you coordinated the color of the dress with the cardstock. Great idea for the scalloped edge. The art journal lesson was great, too!
ReplyDeleteGREAT idea with the "blank faces" on the All in the Family MDS brush set in order to add your own expressions. I wouldn't have thought of that! TFS!
