In Color Thank you Card

Hi!  My name is Katherine and I am the final guest blogger for Claudia. I know she has had a fantastic time in UT and we can't wait for our fearless leader to return home... I just finished up our Vacation Bible School this past week and I made thank you notes for my teachers and helpers. This had to be a mass produced card so it isn't the fanciest but I hope it conveyed to my teachers how thankful I am to them! Our theme for the week was "Operation Overboard" so I was the "dive chief" all week. I decided to make the cards with an ocean theme. Here is the stage illustrating our theme:
I love the retired  SU stamp set Definitely Decorative Shells and decided to use it with some In Colors 2011-13:
I apologize for my photography! I used an old technique to make the background paper. I stamped an entire piece of 8.5x11 paper and then cut it into strips to have my own version of DSP. I added paper punched with the Scallop Border Trim punch and added an accent piece of paper on top behind my homemade DSP. I sponged around the Thanks a Million with Early Espresso to help soften the white and then popped the greeting up with dimensionals. Finally I stamped the Calypso cardstock in the same color with the sand dollar. Here is a closer picture to show the details better:
You may be able to see that I added Shimmer Spray - in honor of you Claudia!!! Thanks for reading and hope you have a wonderful week!

  4. Your homemade DSP turned out great. Wonderful idea to have your thank you cards in the same theme. Nicely done, thanks for sharing :-)
