Graduation Jar

I am so thrilled to share with you a little project I made last week. Here it is... a Graduation jar:

PS: it is filled with yummy German chocolates and a gift card hiding in between ;-)

It's hard to see what I stamped on it, so here is a better picture of the front:

Here is the top view and with the cap off:

To make the bottom portion of the cap, I used a piece of black CS that was 11 1/2 by 2 1/2. I scored it at 1 inch and snipped up to the score line... creating a fringe. but keeping the 1 1/2 inch side intact.

Then I applied sticky tape to one end and formed that strip around top of jar:

The next pictures will show you how I continued with the bottom of the cap:

The cardstock for the top portion is a 4 inch square. Here you can see how I've attached them both and added a tassel:

I had so much fun making this and hope the instructions are easy enough were you can maybe make some too... Have fun!
