To do a fold like this, you simply start out with your cardstock in 5 1/2 by 8 1/2. But then you don't fold it in half. You would score it at 2 1/8 from both sides and that will give you the 4 1/4 when the gates are closed ;-)

The Great Outdoors
Today's card shows off a special fold called "gate fold" because... the panels open like... well... a gate! It was created by Tera for the the masculine swap this month.
To do a fold like this, you simply start out with your cardstock in 5 1/2 by 8 1/2. But then you don't fold it in half. You would score it at 2 1/8 from both sides and that will give you the 4 1/4 when the gates are closed ;-)
