Fishing Vest

Yesterday I was in need of a manly Birthday Card that also worked as a gift card holder. The recipient likes to go fishing, so we decided to get him a gift card to a local sports store. And I knew exactly what card I wanted to make. A fishing vest!

Here is the front:

After I took the picture, I changed out the stamped fly/lure for a real one I got from Rob Smile . I just didn’t have enough time to take another photo.

The vest uses Soft Suede CS, the pockets are made from Crumb Cake CS. All sponged in Soft Suede ink!

Little trick here: the large brads on the larger pockets started out with our GLIMMER brads! I then used our new sanding system and sanded all that glimmer off. Worked like a charm and gave it a little of an aged look too.

Here is the inside view:

Disclaimer: I used a RETIRED stamp set that I kept for occasions like that, but it is not available anymore… sorry! I am hoping that Stampin’ Up! will get us more hunting/fishing stamps next year. I just sent an email requesting that! I also asked that our great retired hunting/fishing sets are made into digital stamps for MDS2. That would help a LOT!

You know you can contact Stampin’ Up! as well to request certain things that you miss currently! They need and want to hear from all of us, so don’t be shy and contact them!

  2. thanks for reminder about sending SU! note about stamping "gaps"... I swear if I had more man stamps, I'd have a little more ammunition (pun intended) to please the hubby who grows weary of my expanding craft collection! :)
