I figured I'd post a discovery I made here for all of you curious minds. Nikki asked me if it was possible to stamp in craft ink onto a previously embossed chipboard piece. My gut feeling was to say YES, right away, but I thought I'd try it out first!
Quick refresher: You'll cover your chipboard piece with craft ink (use daubers - much easier and not so messy!), then you'll dip it into clear Embossing Powder, and heat emboss - while hot dip again and heat again, so it will become glossy
Then you'll let it cool completely!!!!
If we want to stamp on the shape now, you can do several things.
You will get a VERY subtle look when stamping with Craft ink and emboss again. It will also vary if you use lighter or darker colored craft ink as base on your shape, and also what color your chipboard piece was originally.
Here is Craft ink over the glossy surface and embossed again:
Then I've done one with darker craft ink on the shape and the craft ink used over did not show up at all. So I let it dry and stamped in StazOn ink over the the glossy surface and heat a little again:
So I still say, YES you can do it - it just depends what look you want to achieve!
Stay tuned for tomorrow's post - It will have cards that I made with these shapes...
Very cool look...I'm gonna have to try this. TFS
