Guest Designer Series, #1 - Daisy Delight

Today is the first day of my guest designers at work and without further ado... I will share this cheerful card created by Debbie Monroe. She is part of my Tuesday stamp club group

It's very hard to take pictures of silver embossed images... so I thought I should point out that she did just that to the greeting on this card and it looks so elegant in real...

I feel like this is a great example that you can use just about any color combo and replicate fairly easy and make a stack of them to have on hand for when you need a card... you could keep the greeting off and add as needed....

Lemon Lime Twist AGAIN!

OK so to be completely honest... Lemon Lime Twist was NOT one of my first picks of colors.. bright colors like that scare me a little... BUT I've made it my goal to use it a lot so I could find color combos that I like and I do like the one I used on this card:

New goodies!

Yesterday I received my box with new catalog pre-order items and of course had to play with something new right away.

Today I am showcasing one of our new in-colors called "Lemon Lime Twist". It is a very bright and cheery color. But since I am not so secure in using bright colors in combination, I felt it was best for me to use black and white with it. But I can't wait to learn of other great color combos in the near future.

And of course I had to have the "Happy Birthday" framelit, no question asked. I've been waiting on THIS one like forever. We needed that in our supplies to make quick birthday cards!

Taking a break from Christmas cards

During Stamp-a-Stack Saturday, I mentioned that the I would need to take a break from making Christmas Cards for a few days.... And I went into the spring-like color selection...

I know...  today's card is a little unusual for me ... in color choice... Melon Mambo is not a color I reach for often. I was going to CASE a card that my upline Dena did a couple of days ago that used Washi Tape in the background... but I wanted to use a different Washi Tape to make the card a tiny bit different.

BTW - The mini pom pom trim is still pretty dimensional... so I had to stack 2 dimensionals to make that layer pop up enough...

Perfectly Wrapped

Today I would like to share a card with you that I've received from my upline Dena...

Those of you that me a little better know that pink is not a color I reach for often LOL... BUT I have to say that in combination with black/white and gold I REALLY like it. And I may just have to break down and order the Pop of Pink DSP and Washi Tape myself.

And best of all, this card totally made me smile. Thanks, Dena for being so supportive!

Coordination is THE key

Today's card does not show off a new stamp set...nope "just" a new Designer Series Paper. It is called Festive Birthday. And it is one of those that you might overlook, or at least I would have. I got it on the incentive trip... and it was not my favorite, but now I am glad I got it. Because I used it with the Lovely Lace embossing folder and those flowers coordinate so well with the DSP.

Because of this fun paper, I was able to make this cheerful card in no time today...

Happy times 3

You might wonder why the title? Well.... "Happy" times 3 = Stamp Set "Happy Home" and Stamp Set "Happy Happenings" and "Happy colors"...

Should be a 4th happy in there.... for me "being happy to have a card to post".... on stamp club day LOL...

Here is the happy little card:

I stamped the image in black StazOn ink and simply used my sponge dauber to color the ground in Crumb Cake and the tree top in Cucumber Crush... Very easy! I did use a marker for the little flowers...

Sunny Birthday

Today I was inspired by my friend Selene's card... and decided to copy the idea how she used the sunburst... She used it tone on tone in Pool Party and a large greeting in an oval.

Here is my card:

You can't really see it above, but I heat embossed the greeting in black...so here is a better look

For as simple as this card is, I think I broke the record of most dimensionals used on one card... can you guess??? No?  Well let me tell you... it's 17!  LOL

I do like though how the sun rays pop off the card. It was a quick card to make and I am sure will make someone smile... how can you not with this color?

Did you notice that for 2 days in a row now I've made cards in BRIGHT colors. Yikes... I am still in shock myself as I don't normally reach for bright colors. With this said, I am sure I'll tone it down a bit soon and go back to colors that I am more drawn to naturally.
