August Alaska Achievers Blog Hop

Last month I skipped this blog hop because I was still gone on the Alaska Trip and extended a few days to stay in Seattle. We had a wonderful time and came home with great memories and nice gifts from Stampin' Up!... from the upcoming Holiday Catalog!

Welcome to the monthly Blog Hop for the Alaska Incentive trip achievers! This month we are going to showcase samples from the new Holiday catalog....

I decided to play with the "Blizzard" Thinlit die because I just love snowflakes.

The first card (yes... I made several!) showcases the snowflakes embossed. I did that using our embossing mats for the BigShot. OMG - so easy and pretty!

I've also used our returning Champagne Mist Shimmer Paint mixed with Rubbing Alcohol and spritzed over the background... here is a closer view of the shimmer:

For the next card, I cut out the Snowflakes using the die and precision plate...

The medium snowflake was sponged in Shaded Spruce ink...

And the last card I used cardstock that was left from cutting out the snowflakes:

Oh... by the way... the Pearl was colored with our new BLACK Stampin' Blend marker... also from the Holiday catalog

Cheers to the Year

Over the next few days I am going to share the Make-and-Take projects with you that I got to make on the incentive trip in Thailand. I waited until now because the Holiday catalog goes live tomorrow. Which brings to a point... If you have not gotten your copy from me yet, please let me know so I can get it to you. ICS Blog Hop Introducing the Holiday Catalog

Today is the first Wednesday of the month and that means, it's time for a blog hop with the crew from "inspire, create & share" blog hop. This month we each are going to showcase items from the new Holiday catalog. And I know that will be awesome because there are so MANY awesome products in there. 

So lets get started right away! Here is my offering for you:

Just a couple of things I want to point out here... 

- I custom dyed the white ribbon with Mossy Meadows re-inker and rubbing alcohol. 

- The feather is a real one from a parrot (no bird was harmed in the collection of this feather! It was in his food bowl...)

- Can you see the glitter specks?

Those were created by mixing a little bit of water to a small glob of liquid glue, then using a paint brush and flicking that mixture onto the cardstock...and lastly sprinkling some glitter over it. I am in love with that! BTW, you can also do this with embossing powder and then using the heat gun as usual and it will give you some fun and funky textured speckles!

Before I let you go, I also wanted to pass on some info about new and mainly bold stamps when you have a hard time stamping a clean image. See the comparison below:

Tip:

If you run into that problem, don't panic or get frustrated! It's most likely that residue from the manufacturing process... and you can simply clean your stamp with STAZON CLEANER, and then regular cleaner... and it will stamp perfectly!

Grand Vacations Achievers Blog Hop July - Holiday Sneak Peek!

This catalog has so many great items that is was very hard for me to restrict myself. BUT the one stamp set that I knew I had to have is the "Lighthearted Leaves" it's so much fun, I love the look and you can color it in like I did here (Aqua Painter and inks) or not and still get a great look.

Another new item (well besides the new basic black archival ink) that I've used is the "Fine-Tip Glue Pen". It's not only great to adhere tiny things like sequins, use for glitter but also write with or simply add dimension like I did. See close up:

Weekly Christmas Card Promise #2

Just as promised, I am back this week with the next installment of Christmas Cards! BUT, I've used the same stamp set as last week, because it went with what I wanted to do and I just really like that set! At any rate, that should give those of you who own that set some more ideas...

So this is card I came up with using a Project Life card. (Oh and BTW, the patterned tree is heat embossed on this card...)  

I really, really like the black and white look - But as you may know, there is not a second one of the exact same pattern card in the box... and that presented a little problem for me as I wanted to make my set of 4 as promised last week. So I went through the box and found some more cards that I thought would work here.

Here you go:

On the card above, I just put the star on the other tree...

Now we are going on to other colors:

The last one, might be my favorite in a non-traditional color... Bermuda Bay. 

And this will make my count of cards go up to 8! YAY
