I've had the highest attendance and Kit sales with a total of 28 -  I think ever since I started holding SAS... Thank you guys for your support!

The first card we made was very easy but looked very elegant:

This card has a built-in "easel" on the back so it can stand upright without leaning forward:

The easel was created by laying down the CS in portrait and one line was scored on the bottom (in the center and approx. 2 inches up - and another line diagonally to the left starting at the tip of the first one going down) and then a cut was made diagonally to the right, to create an easel. This all was done before the other layers were attached to it!

Enjoy your weekend!

Dormant List

Since the new catalog has arrived and some of you picked it up already, I wanted to point out one very important thing. Every year when catalogs change over there will be a Dormant List, which accompanies the main catalog.

The Dormant List contains stamp sets that, while they have not been retired, are not listed in the current catalog. These sets are available for purchase during the listed timeframe and may or may not be listed again in future catalogs.

The new Dormant List is available now (Stamps listed on there, are available January 19-June 30, 2009).

Click here to view the NEW Dormant List!

So before you have a minor (or major) heart attack over a "missing stamp set", please be sure to check the dormant list :-)

Tip: You may want to print it out and put with your catalog so you can refer to it when you need it...

Have a great time browsing the new catalog!

Butterflies Pages

So tonight is my monthly scrapbook class and I thought we are going to use Butterflies on our pages. Next month will be hearts...

Anyway - If you were not able to come and either want a repeat of the class or purchase the kit for either the 6x6 or 12x12 pages, please contact me!

Be sure to click on the pictures so you can actually see the pages better. The white pieces of paper would NOT be on the pages, these are only placeholders for the photos!

Here is my 6x6 Layout:

Butterflies 6by6

And then of course we are taking those and make them into 12x12 Pages:

butterflies 12by12

Of course I had to use my Cricut machine (right page!) this time, and will do so more in the future to justify it's existence :-) I did however use our Birds and blooms sizzlits and the boho flower punch to make blooms and glued them over the existing ones on the green cutout...

Enjoy your day!

January Stamp Club Swap Cards

Last night we had our last stamp club meeting for January and several ladies brought their swap cards in.

I had given them a little bit of a challenge this time around. And the criteria was:

1) Use a stamp set that is either on the retirement list now or is already retired

2) Use this Sketch:

clip_image002

… and for the little circles on the right of the card, you could use buttons, brads, eyelets, punches, flowers or any kind of embellishment you can think of…

3) Use this color combo: BLACK, WHITE, and one color of your choice

And I think the cards turned out pretty good - see for yourself:

Have a nice Friday!

A sample and reminder

I've participated in an online layout chat challenge. That's a tongue twister... Anyway, the lady posted a sample, an actual card she had received from her relative for Christmas. We had to use the layout to create our card. Her card was in landscape and I made mine into portrait.

I am not so sure that I love it, but really wanted to show off the nice DSP in the "Love you much" Valentines Bundle. So here is my card:

love you much_sketch

I even stamped the "love you much" onto DSP and then colored it in with my Blender Pen and ink. But it wasn't the best thing to do, as the little polka dots in the paper make it somewhat difficult! BUT - I just love, love, love that heart punch!

Don't forget the bundle is available NOW, and you can read up on it in the sidebar to the right, under specials!

AND don't forget to come back to my blog this afternoon - Stampin' Up! is going to announce the retired accessories list then, and I'll post it as soon as I have it!

Have a great week...

Happy New Year - and meet Annie!

I just wanted to say Happy New Year to all of you! I hope the New Year will bring everything you are hoping for and more...

I've told you a couple of days ago that we've added on to our family. Our new puppy "Annie" fits right in and made our home hers. And Maggie and Sam have adjusted to her so well already too.

Here are some pictures - Meet Annie:

I just had to post the pictures with her little dress too, because I am pretty sure that was the only time she was able to wear it. When we got her on the 21st she was 15 pounds, now weighs 17. Our Vet thinks she may be at 30 pounds in 3 weeks. She's got lots of skin to grow into... I think she grew already within the week we've had her!

She is VERY cute, loveable and does very well with the house breaking! She only had very minor accidents when she is trying to show that she needs out and is ignored by the humans... (which hasn't happened lots)
