Well really, the Stampin' Up! Pastels are pretty good you might think, but not magical. I think you need to take another look and try the Technique called "Magic Pastels" :-)
This is how its done:
The image is inked up in a light colored ink such as Sahara Sand, stamped off once and then stamped onto white CS. The image will then get colored in sort of messy with Pastels and Applicators (Q-tips work well too). Lastly the same image will get stamped over the previously stamped and colored image using the stamp-a-ma-jic . This time a dark ink is used, such as Chocolate Chip or Basic Black = Image will pop.
