ICS Blog Hop Technique Time

Hi guys!
It's time to play along with the girls from the "inspire, create & share" blog hop! This month's theme  is "Technique Time"... there are so many different techniques that I am sure you will find lots of great inspiration during this hop.

I chose one that has been around for a long time, but I haven't seen it done much lately. It's called:

Cracked Glass

Here is a close up of the technique piece:

How to:

- The  jar and snowman image was stamped in black Stazon and colored in with blender pen and inks from ink pads
- The jar shape was then die-cut
- VersaMark ink pad was dabbed  accross the shape, clear embossing powder was sprinkled over it and then heat embossed
- to get the best results, let cool just a second then apply VersaMark ink again add another layer of clear embossing powder and heat emboss again
- Repeat last step another 3-4 times! YES, that many! You want a THICK layer of clear embossing!
- place piece in freezer for a few minutes to really harden the embossed layer
- remove from freezer and gently bent piece to make the embossed layer crack and continue to do so until you get desired look
Optional: If you want an more aged look, you can sponge on some brown ink while bending the cardstock at a cracked area

On this image I've added some dazzling diamonds glitter between the last and layers of clear embossing in the bottom area..

Please be sure to hop on over to the next blog, which will bring you to Tina Riddle. Simply click on the button below and it will bring you to her blog where she will show you a project with the emboss resist technique!
