So today I sat out to participate in the Monday Lunchtime Sketch Challenge by MJ over at Technostamper. As you can tell, it's WAY past lunchtime, BUT it's still Monday ;-)
I wanted to combine this great color combo that I've found on another blog called Color Throwdown with this layout, and finally had the chance to complete the card.
I actually had to giggle when I named my file on the computer "really retro". I always use the name of the stamp set that I've used, and this time it was the cute sentiment set... Well when you see my card, you'll know why the giggles and the follow up of "REALLY" in today's post title.
But before I go any further... I have to do a quick shout out to Nance' and Joy - Hey there! I had a great time talking with you guys yesterday after the technique class and decided to dedicate this blog post to YOU...
Today's Sketch by MJ:
And the color combination is this:
Tempting Turquoise - Basic Black - So Saffron
And when you mix the 2 challenges you could come up with something like this:
Don't you agree - It IS "really retro". *Grin*. By the way, the card fit's into a long business envelope.
Supplies used: Tempting Turquoise, Basic Black, So Saffron CS, Basic Black Ink, white Ink, Saffron Ribbon, Scallop Edge Punch, Daisies #2 Die, "Really Retry" and "Itty, Bitty Backgrounds"
Make sure to check out MaryJo's Blog to see what the other participants came up with...
Very nice, I love the color throw down challenge. I need to make them a habit. I play for a bit and then forget for a week or so. I am getting old and can't remember a stinkin thing lately. Anyway, thanks for playing I love your card with those fun colors.
