So today I was still in the mood to play with glossy cardstock and re-inkers, but the set Rose Wonder called out to be put to use... and this is what I came up with:
And let me tell you a little secret... this is not what I had in mind at all LOL. But I love the outcome! I wanted to use the background that I had created and stamp the rose over it. And here come my confession... I used "gasp" the retired black Stazon ink because I was worried I might smear the black archival ink. WELL like sometimes Stazon does when not quick enough, it had dried on the stamp and didn't stamp my image completely. GRRR. I did not want to waste the gorgeous background and simply die-cut the rose from black cardstock and placed over the stamped image.... fixed that mistake and may have made it even better?
Anyways, some of you may wonder how I did the background, so here are some pics...
Re-inker drops were placed on glossy CS:
THEN it was spritzed with water:
I went back and added more water so it would run more, then plotted it off and heat set:
And I did the same for the leafs, but instead of plotting it with paper, I used the micro fiber cloth it was laying on and it gave it some pattern... cool side effect:
And I had backed the black cardstock with our adhesive sheet before die-cutting the rose. Then I sort of paper pieced it all..
Love this great tutorial! Thanks katherine
