It’s that time of year that we get to see lots of leaves and they are so pretty when they change colors. So I think was a little inspired by that when I created this little gift:
I used the Sizzix die Leaves #2 and die cut a whole bunch of them in Old Olive, Pumpkin Pie, Soft Suede and Cajun Craze. Then I shimmer sprayed them and crumbled them up. I opened them back up and let air dry.
The wooden frame was painted first before I attached the leaves (ONE by ONE) with hot glue. The funny part is, that acrylic paint I had was way to light, so I added a little Early Espresso re-inker to that and wouldn’t you know it… it turned out be be just like Soft Suede!
This is actually a very easy project and could be a special gift or your own seasonal home décor!
Today I wanted to highlight a new product from the mini catalog. The “Peekaboo Frames” Die. You can find it on page 36 in the mini catalog and it was used to create an awesome Advent Calendar.
BUT I do know that not everyone is going to want to make such an item. So I wanted to point out how versatile this die is, and I am going to show you 2 uses and a little video.

Well – I do bathe more often than just once a week and really don’t have to announce that on my blog!
BUT I wanted to share with you the view I had earlier – an no worries it’s clean in more than one way:
Heheheeeee – this is the majority of my clear blocks and while getting the stamp supplies into the baskets for Stamp-a-Stack tonight, I saw just how nasty some of them had gotten. So I decided it was bath time!
On a more serious note… if you get permanent ink like StazOn onto your blocks, no worries! The good ole StazOn Cleaner will take it off. I then wash them all in HOT water with dish soap to make sure that the oil film comes off again!
So now they are drying off and will be sparkly and ready for tonight!

Let me show you my quick little card I made today:
This is one of those cards that I made from “stuff” from the stamp desk… To be honest the way my desk looks like right now, I could make at least 1000 more…
Can you guess what this flower is made from? Besides the obvious like the scallop circle of course?
Weeeellllll – you see, we have those HUGS designer buttons in the Holiday Mini catalog right now 
and our 1-1/4” circle punch fits perfectly inside of it! Isn’t that just cool!
So I used one of the buttons in More Mustard and spritzed it with the Log Cabin Smooch Spray first… Just because I wanted to know if you could! It works great, I did heat-set it though…
This gives you another use for the buttons that you may not have thought of right away…

Oh Yeah!!! So I thought with our new Silver Glimmer Paper, we should be able to “dye” it any color we want. And… I was right!
Look:
I simply “painted” on the “Island Indigo” Re-inker liquid.
I did mix some rubbing alcohol into the re-inker, but think next time I won’t do that and might get a darker outcome. It turned out a LOT lighter.

Today I am going to show you a cute card we made at convention!
Here it is:
I think what I like most about this card is how the 2 pieces of ribbon are used! One layered on top of the other. And then attached with staples to the cardstock. Pretty neat! (I’m sorry Joan, I do like it *grin*)

And I also wanted to point out that, I guess, it’s totally OK to NOT place little embellishments like pearls in the center. Right! You can off-set them, like here:
See, I am pointing these things out, because my brain doesn’t work like that. I automatically would have placed those pearls in the dead center. But hey, I am learning. And I really do like it!
Oh and to show you “again” that I am not perfect… see that little knot on the stem? It wasn’t supposed to have one. BUT we had to stamp 2 stems to make one longer stem, and mine didn’t line up perfectly. So I covered up the boo boo 
It’s a very easy card, but just looking at it makes me happy! By the way, the stamp set we used is called “Raining Flowers” and can be found on page 111
Today I wanted to show you a little trick that I’ve learnt before I went to convention. But I didn’t have time to blog about it. I think I told the Monday Stamp club because that was the day I tried it out. But I also wanted to share with all of you!
We all have sometimes a little bit of a hard time to keep those little clear-mount stamps stuck on the clear block, right?!
So I went the bold way and started to use our awesome “Tombow Multi-Purpose Adhesive”. Don’t get scared! You see, this adhesive is like a two-way glue. If you stick it to something while still wet, it’s permanent. BUT if you let the adhesive dry before sticking it to something, then it is repositionable!
So I just put a small amount on the sticker back of my stamp:
Then I let it dry completely:
Can you see that the glue changed from being white to see-through?!
Then you can just stick it onto your block:
And it WILL stick great, but you can remove it too. I just put some adhesive in the center to help it stick better. And If you want to clean it off, you can just rub it off or use some dish soap.
Since that all wasn’t something “pretty” to look at, I am also going to share a photo from convention.
It’s all about the buttons and how you can dress them up. Here is a shot of the display board:

So, pull out your buttons and decorate them before adding them to a project. I will have to give it a try too!

I’ve followed Madeline’s color challenge, where we had to use Cherry Cobbler, Tangerine Tango and Black. And this is what I came up with:
I pulled out the “Daisies” Die that had neglected for a while… Shimmer Spray was a must and of course some texture.
The white part is actually the card and will open up! I’ve cut a small slit into the “spine” of the card so I could feed the ribbon through.
I so LOVE the “Four Frames” stamp set and can’t wait for it to officially come out in the new catalog in July. So if you missed out on getting it last month while it was a sneak peek item, you can get it soon…
I better get going, I have my hair appointment so I’ll be pretty for the Alaska cruise :-) and then have to do my packing to see if I need to buy anything else…

The other day I “overheard” someone mention that they use the “Big Shot Multipurpose Adhesive Sheets” for all of the tiny pieces they punch or die cut.
Really, those sheets aren’t news to me, however… I did NOT like the sticky film surrounding the little pieces after you peel them off the sheet. But that person had a great tip:
She puts down the small pieces onto the sticky sheet and then uses the “Adhesive Remover” before pulling up the small pieces.
I’ve put that to a test in this video:
This works so well with the “Lattice” Die, as seen in the post from yesterday!

The theme for today’s Blogger’s Challenge was “Birthday”. I know we all need Birthday cards all the time so this was an easy one.
I was in the mood for cupcakes, so I decided to put that desire to use on paper.
I had pre-stamped some of the cup-cake background pieces a long time ago so I could make them into cards when I’m in a bind, so forgive for the use of some retired colors (gasp!)… I used Crystal Effects to cover the cherry, it makes it so nice and shiny and dimenstional!
Supplies
Stamps: “Simple Birthday Thanks” (= The Cupcake Background stamp), “Something to Celebrate” (Level 2 Hostess Set, Occasions Mini Catalog), “Birthday Bakery” (Level 1 Hostess Set)
Paper: Pear Pizzazz, Close to Cocoa and Apricot Appeal DSP (both retired, sniff), Melon Mambo, Rich Razzleberry
Ink: Basic Black, Chocolate Chip
Accessories: Melon Mambo Pompom Trim (how fun!), Crystal Effects, Basic Rhinestones
Tools: Beautiful Wings Embosslit, Paper Crimper
I had stamped the “cup cake” several times, cut out and then paper pieced them together. The “cup cake” wrapper was hand drawn a little larger as the cupcake and then run through the paper crimper.
Tip:
Did you know that you can color your clear Rhinestones? You can do that (while still on the wax sheet!) using sharpie markers or Copic Markers, or any other alcohol based ones... Very cool! Customized Rhinestones to match your projects!
Try it out – you’ll love it!
…. that you can add some more dimension and interest to your projects when using our embossing folders with Designer Series Paper (DSP)?! See, after you’ve ran the DSP through in the embossing folder you can sand the raised surfaces and they will become white! You can used solid colored DSP or patterned/printed DSP, Like I did here:

Today I created a card following this color combo:
sort of anyway! I totally forgot about the Early Espresso and used Basic Black. But it so minor, it really doesn’t matter that much.
Here is my card:
You see, I don’t have ANY or the Bermuda Bay cardstock anymore since this is a retired color. But I wanted to play along so I can show you what you can do when you run out of retired colors!
Of course you can simply brayer our white cardstock with the color needed. OR you can do like I did and use GLOSSY white Cardstock and simply pull the inkpad across the CS to cover it. It will leave some cool lines which look like texture… The stamp set used is called “Just Believe”.
Now on to my Tip of the day! Oh right, this is already the 2nd tip for today, considering the info above *grin*
What I really wanted to share with you today is besides the original purpose of our clear stamp set cases there are more!
They can be storage for multiple sets in one case, they hold Markers, the sheets of embellishments, several cards with envelopes and more I am sure of.
But the best of all… you can use it to MAIL cards that are very dimensional! See here:
I’ve adhered the mailing labels on the outside of the case and taped the sides shut…
Granted it cost me a little more than in a regular envelope, but it’s so worth it to me!

But better a day late, than not at all, right?!

As you can see, I am still on the color combo “Marina Mist with Pear Pizzazz” kick… I may just have to call this one my favorite combo… for now :-)
I needed an Anniversary card for our dear neighbors, so I used the stamp set “Perfect Punches” and inked up the stamp that is in the shape of the modern label punch, but I used a Marker and omitted the “Congratulations” in the center. That way I was able to stamp the sentiment I needed…
Tip of the day: Before you disregard some stamps because they don’t have the correct greeting… look at them again and ask yourself if you can use a Marker for just the “frame”?!
