Perfectly Plaid Gnome

So I've had a real bad day with my van dying on me... dealing with the major expense and inconvenience of not having a car is no fun for sure....so I needed some crafting therapy and decided to make my own version of the cute gnome....

I'm sure you can figure out the shapes I've used to create him by looking atthe list below. But if not, plesase comment or send me a message and I'll list them for you...

Trick or Treat Tombstone

Today the weather is so dreary that it seemed perfect to make "dark" card. I created a tombstone with the ornate tag topper punch!

To make the tombstone stand out a little better, not only did I sponge the edges in black first but I also layered it onto white, well sort of... I punched a 2nd ornate tag topper shape but only used the shaped part on the top, pulled up some and added a thin strip on the bottom.. And I needed to cover up the hole in the top, so I simply added the little spider...

The greeting was inked up with markers in Elegant Eggplan, Old Olive and Pumpking Pie... And who can resist that gorgeous black glimmer paper and the fun spider web doilies?

I had fun making this card and hope it will inspire you to be spooky ;-)

This is The Life... in Color

I like when color selection is a "no-brainer"... cause sometimes I can spend some time just deciding what to use together...  For today's card I knew I wanted to use a sheet from the "Cherry on Top" Designer Series Paper. And due to that my colors were selected...

I used Tip Top Taupe for the card base and then layers and punched shapes in Whisper White, Watermelon Wonder, Cucumber Crush... The image was stamped in Island Indigo. What a cheerful color combo!

I took a close up on the flower so you could see just how dimensional it is... I've used my bonefolder to curl all the petal on all of the layers ;-)

BTW - the Pansy Punch is still on sale until Monday night!!!

Something To Say

Today's card is one of those that has been building in my mind for a while and I pretty happy how it "translated"!

The "ribbon" on the bottom is not ribbon at all, but cardstock strips cut very think...and applied like ribbon. I did that because I don't have ribbon in "Watermelon Wonder" yet. And I needed somthing across that empty space.

I am sorry that I've used 2 retired items on this card... the Naturals White CS... which can be replaced with our thick white CS! And in place of the Modern Label punch, I think you could use the Washi Label punch...
