Healing Hugs

Today I simply added a little support ribbon to a Get Well (swap card) to show that it can also be combined with other sets...

This card is a bit different fold then our usual cards. It is 4 1/4 by 8 1/4 and scored at 2 3/4 on the log side, which gives you the small panel on the left and the regular card (5 1/4 by 4 1/4) on the right...

Ribbon of Courage

This month is Breast Cancer Awareness month and many of you know that this is an important one to me. I want to make sure that not only are you doing your self checks and go to your annual well women's appointments but also are able to show support to loved ones when need be.

Like me... I needed a little Thank you card to send along my donation this month.,.. and did that in style with a very simple card:

Ribbon of Courage

This month is Breast Cancer Awareness month and I thought I should make a card to remind you to schedule your Mammogram! Do it first thing Monday morning, promise me... this is important. Early detection is the key!

Now that I've rattled you guys, I am ready to show you the card. I was inspired by Mary Fish... she posted some cards with a border that has a "break" just big enough for part of a greeting. Very cool. I didn't want to use a sentiment with several lines because I was using the ribbon stamp so I just used one word...

The ribbon I've used is the 1/2 inch Gingham ribbon in Smoky Slate. And while it would have worked with this card "as is", I wanted to prove the point that even this ribbon can be custom dyed ;-) Yep, I simply let it sit in a mixture of rubbing alcohol and Pink Pirouette ink refill.. for about 5-10 minutes, and then dried it off... pretty neat...

And I did some more coloring with my blendies in anticipation of the new "blends" to arrive... fun!

You've got this!

This stamp set is perfect for so many occasions! Today, I needed a card for someone that is currently going through chemo and radiation due to breast cancer... I wanted a simple card... just to show a little support.

Here is my card:

I am not sure you can see the breast cancer ribbon in the bottom left.... I stamped it off before I stamped it onto the image layer because I didn't want it to stand out so harsh..

Oh and the small ribbon stamp is a retired stamp, it was a special edition by Stampin' Up! several years back. I am sure glad I kept it!
