Cozy Christmas

Today's share is a card I've received in a swap. I like the combination of vintage and fun that was created here:

The card was created by fellow demo Carren, and I think she came up with a darling card! I also wanted to point out the cute button embellishment that she used. It's one of the "Home for Christmas Designer Buttons". See:

And just in case you are wondering how she  did those fancy corners on the greeting layer.. Well, it's a framelit! Yep there is a framelit for that LOL, they are called "Tags & Labels". They have been on my wishlist for a while and may just have gotten moved to the very top!

Weekly Christmas Card Promise #8

Today I was in the mood to use Crumbcake for my weekly Christmas Card and went with it... I just didn't remember that last week I also used it as my card base. BUT this week is a different look because I added Real Red and Early Espresso in! See:

A little tip for the solid "Watercolor Wash" background stamp.. to get a real smooth ink coverage, I use a brayer and roll the ink onto the stamp. This way you don't get any lines from the inkpad!

Did you see the "buckle" on the right... Yes, I made it with our new and cool "Curvy Corner Trio Punch". Love that gadget!

My Christmas card inventory is now at 48 cards!    ;-)

Techno Stampers Sketch Challenge

It’s already Monday again, and that means of course it’s time for a new sketch provided by MaryJo.

This week, she gave us a square to work with:

I really wanted to add some more layers, you know me! But I behaved and followed the sketch a little more closely that I wanted.

I am still in a vintage mood and came up with this:

I really wanted you to see the details, so I took another close-up shot:

Supplies

Stamps:
Nature Walk, Teeny Tiny Whishes

Paper:
Naturals Ivory, Soft Suede, Very Vanilla, First Edition DSP

Ink:
Soft Suede, Early Espresso

Accessories:
Antique Brads, Crumb Cake Seam Binding Ribbon, Brads

Tools:
Modern Label Punch, Vintage Wallpaper Embossing Folder, Boho Blossom Punch, Cutter Kit, Champagne Shimmer Paint, Distressing Essentials!

Soooo, I still don’t know if you can see that I’ve used shimmer spray on the image layer… I really is pretty in real! Then I also wanted to point out the gathered Ribbon and the nifty way to use the Modern Label Punch. I saw Kimberly VanDiepen do that yesterday on her blog and LOVED that!

Tip:
If you would like to achieve a subtle vintage distressed look like on the background of my card, you NEED the “Distressing Essentials” kit! It comes with several different tools and distressing ink spots. I simply used the rubber block, inked it up with the “Tea Stain” ink, gave it a quick spritz with plain old water and then swiped across the textured cardstock. I just love how that turned out!

Be aware, that I will use that kit lots more from now on :-)
