Lovely Lily Pad

Today is the perfect example that even when you "try" to copy a card... you may come up with something different...

Here is my card

BTW the background was created by inking up the clear stamp block "E" with Balmy Blue ink, then I spritzed it wet with rubbing alcohol and then "stamped" it onto white cardstock...

And as for "copying" a card... all I can say now... is that I used the card from the Sale-a-Bration catalog on page 6 as "inspiration" LOL....

Ribbon of Courage

This month is Breast Cancer Awareness month and I thought I should make a card to remind you to schedule your Mammogram! Do it first thing Monday morning, promise me... this is important. Early detection is the key!

Now that I've rattled you guys, I am ready to show you the card. I was inspired by Mary Fish... she posted some cards with a border that has a "break" just big enough for part of a greeting. Very cool. I didn't want to use a sentiment with several lines because I was using the ribbon stamp so I just used one word...

The ribbon I've used is the 1/2 inch Gingham ribbon in Smoky Slate. And while it would have worked with this card "as is", I wanted to prove the point that even this ribbon can be custom dyed ;-) Yep, I simply let it sit in a mixture of rubbing alcohol and Pink Pirouette ink refill.. for about 5-10 minutes, and then dried it off... pretty neat...

And I did some more coloring with my blendies in anticipation of the new "blends" to arrive... fun!

Taking a break from Christmas cards

During Stamp-a-Stack Saturday, I mentioned that the I would need to take a break from making Christmas Cards for a few days.... And I went into the spring-like color selection...

I know...  today's card is a little unusual for me ... in color choice... Melon Mambo is not a color I reach for often. I was going to CASE a card that my upline Dena did a couple of days ago that used Washi Tape in the background... but I wanted to use a different Washi Tape to make the card a tiny bit different.

BTW - The mini pom pom trim is still pretty dimensional... so I had to stack 2 dimensionals to make that layer pop up enough...

Inspired by Kylie Bertucci

This morning I had a great card pop up in my feed of fellow SU demo's blogs that totally spoke to me and I just had to case Kylie Bertucci's card.

Here is my take on it:

I only changed the colors and the sentiment...and the angle of the greeting layer is opposite of hers. Love how simple but balanced it is! Thanks Kylie for inspiring me!

Inspired by Sir Elton John

Yesterday I went to the Elton John concert here in town and it was just fabulous!. Not only was the music great.... his piano playing and singing is still just as good as on record/CD, and I  was blown away.... but I was also very inspired by the light show!

So today I created a card based on that....see:

And  here are some pictures from the concert so you can see what inspired me.

Inspired by an App

While reading through my Facebook feed today, I came across an app called "Colorfy" and of course had to try it out... it's fun to kill some time and "color in" images on your phone...

I really liked the colors I used and it all inspired me for my card:

Inspired by

A little while back my friend Stephanie sent me a Thank You note and I liked it so much that I kept it up on my desk to use as inspiration piece later on.

Today was the day! Here is what it made me do:

Here is the card that inspired me:

See I didn't say I copied or CASED the card because clearly I didn't. BUT it did INSPIRE me to make a card with some of the elements in it...I was creative ;-)
