A fun Watercolor Wishes Card

Today I pulled out another card base from the Watercolor Wishes card kit. It was the one with diagonal stripes in pool party on the top quarter of the card...

I looked at it a little bit and just didn't want to use the little flower "stickers" that were shown on the instruction sheet... and came up with a fun way to carry over the pattern... Or at least I think so... See:

Tips:

- I used my stamp-a-majic (stamp positioner) to stamp the words in a straight line
- I used a scrap piece of paper to cover up the area below the last blue stripe so I could stamp the splatter and it looks like it's part of the pattern because it didn't stamp into the white area
- the glitter stripes are the oh so fun glitter tape that you can earn free during Sale-a-Bration ... just a few more days...

Watercolor Wishes and watercoloring

So since I still have the box of Watercolor Wishes Card Kit on my desk I had to make another card with the base supplies and came up with the little card...

And actually, I really only used one of the 4 by 4 cards that has a water-colored splash on it in Watermelon Wonder...

I stamped the rose in VersaMark and heat embossed in black... then water colored it.... Stamped the greeting and thought it could use some more. I cut the card down so it would be a 3 3/4 square once folded ...Then I added the textured border and some splattering and then layered it onto a black 4 inch square...

Here is a closer look so you can see how shiny the embossed lines are:

AGAIN - this shows that you are NOT limited to what the kit instructions show you. Be a rebel and use the items as YOU see fit!

Watercolor Wishes Card Kit

So ever since the main catalog came out, I've been using the stamp set from the Watercolor Wishes Card kit... but had not made a card yet...

Today was the day! I was in a bind and that kit sure came handy!

I took a quick look at the enclosed instruction sheet and started out to make the card as pictured. But then I just couldn't help myself and pulled out other stuff... the 2 ribbons and butterflies are not supposed to be on there ... or are they? Well... like I always say... It's my card, so I changed it up ;-) and like it!

That just shows that you can use the kits as a starting point and get creative as wanted...

Hip Hip Hooray Card Kit = Hidden Treasure!

O-M-G! Really? I was sitting on this awesome kit like forever and didn't realize what great value it has! It comes with EVERYTHING you need to make 20 (TWENTY) cards in no time! I am going to post some of the cards, not all since I made some in multiples... but I wanted you to see that with very little effort I was able to whip them all out...

I did want to point out that I didn't even use the stamp set that's included, since I want to gift that to my hostess basket ;-) The last card has a flower that I had left over from stamp club and it seemed the perfect little embellishment... so you can add your own spin, by doing that!

Here is a list of at what's in the kit:

Hooray for quick, handcrafted cards! Includes 20 printed card bases (10 ea. of 2 designs), 5 sticker sheets, 20 Kraft envelopes, 1 sheet of Stampin' Dimensionals¨, 18' Whisper White Baker's Twine; 10 mini paperclips; 3-piece Hip Hip Hooray Stamp Set & clear stamp block; 1 Basic Gray Stampin' Spot.

It also comes with printed instructions and ideas for all the different layout options pictured above!

Sooooo, if you think you are ever going to be in a pinch for a card or know a person who would appreciate this kit, it's a perfect gift... Don't wait and order it now before it's gone ... it is retiring with this catalog!
