Re-purposing is fun!

Ok so some of you know my little addiction to  LuLaRoe and might recognize that the tag on the card is from a piece of clothing LOL... It was simply to pretty to throw away! So I kept it...

Then the other day I needed a garment for an event that night and contacted my local LuLa lady to see if she had something to match... she did and met me for delivery. What great service! So I made a little thank you card for her ... re-purposing the LuLa tag... see:

It's a very simple card but I had so much fun making it and love how our embossing folder matches the pattern on the tag and our Stampin' Up! colors are matching pretty well too...just sayin'

I carried the pattern over to the inside layer and added a little chocolate in a DSP sleeve...

From Tag to Card

From tag to card in no time at all! You see me sweet friend Kim turned in her trading card swaps in a bag with a gift tag on it. And they are always so pretty that I snatch them up and make cards out of them. This time it this adorable snowman...

Here is my card:

All I did was adding the Real Red card base and white layer that I textured. The pretty ribbon was long enough that I cut a piece to tie a knot and then added the other to the white layer...

Oh and I added black rhinestone over the previously stamped buttons on the snowman for added glitz LOL..

Thanks Kim for these adorable tags - I always look forward to them!

It's "recycle day" again

Here is the card:

Retired and Recycled!

My friend Kim, always puts the prettiest tags on the bag of swap cards when she turns them in. So I kept one with the plan of making it into a card.

See:

I took the liberty to color in the lemon, tear off the bottom and then sponge the edges...
The lemon is from a retired set, which I don't own, so shame on me... I don't even remember the name of it... And the ribbon is retired as well.... sorry

But the rest is current ;-)

Flowering Fields make-over

Today's card was made by me using up some images that I had stamped at  Stamp-a-Stack in January but didn't complete the cards...

So I used the tag and build a new card around it!

Recycled FabricTag

The other day my husband looked at as if I had lost my mind! We had bought him some shirts and one had a fabric tag hanging on a button... See...  stopped him rather quickly when he wanted to cut the tag off and throw away... I already knew it was going to go on a card!

Here is what I came up with:

I frayed the bottom edge of the tag to make it look more rustic ;-)

Hello to you from a scrap pile

Not a very flattering title, but that's just how it came together... I've still had several left over stamped and punched flowers on my desk that I wanted to use up, and I decided today was the day!

See my stash

And this is what I made it into

OK, so I did not use it up completely... and still have 2 flowers let now... which I am sure will pop up in another project down the road, especially since I already had the candy dots on them. And that is the main reason why I haven't tossed those 2 out yet. LOL, can't waste those candy dots!

Tip: To keep my "wreath" somewhat uniform, I first punched out a circle from white Cardstock and placed the flowers on it...

"Color Blocking" with Papillon Potpourri

Soooo Friday we went to the Home Improvement store to get some paint to do some touch up work in some rooms... and while I was trying to mach the yellow in my kitchen, my eye wondered and I pocketed 2 other paint sample cards as well... crafting was on my mind right then.

I am starting out with the purple strip (not a color in my house... one can dream though...)

I'll let you in on a little secret...I stamped some images directly onto the paint sample using black Stazon on and it didn't stamp right...grrrrrrrr... since now I needed to cover up on bad image, I changed plan altogether!

DIY Gift Bag

A couple of weeks I needed to wrap a gift. Well it was several items that I had put into a box and didn’t just want to wrap the box… so I came up with a custom Gift Bag to fit the box! I used the cardboard from our DSP packs and covered 2 pieces with DSP, made bottom and the sides, added handles:

Here are some additional views…

And if you think that I am using retired DSP, Brads and Ribbon, then you are 100% correct! This hoarder has to use up some of her goods Smile

Trading Card grows up

Yesterday I ran out of time to post my card for the day because we went to see Jeff Dunham. It was a BLAST! My face hurt from laughing so much. We totally enjoyed it!

Now I am back and need to post my quick card with you guys.  I’ve used a little “Trading Card” (one of those that I include in the order bags). The Trading Card is 2 1/2 by 3 1/2, but now it’s grown up into a full size card:

I know it’s another one that really needs a “bright color warning”. And it actually counts as “recycling” since I had one of the little cards left over…

I’ve printed the strip of DSP in My Digital Studio and used the free SAB set “Punch Bunch” and the free SAB Ice Parlor Ribbon…

Recycling SAS Supplies

Hi there! I’ve had some supplies left over from my last Christmas Stamp-a-Stack with the intent of making the cards… but then things always turn out differently as you plan, right?!  The supplies I had were the ones for the snowman card, seen here.

I just didn’t want punch any more of the circles, since I had pre-punched all of them for the SAS… so I decided to come up with a different version...

This is what I came up with:

Soooo, I recycled what I had and only added the DSP snowflake. Of course I had to shimmer up the background! Simple, but cute.

Colors used: Marina Mist, Not Quite Navy and white

Stamp Sets: A Cute Christmas, Serene Snowflakes, Northern Hearts

Recycling or Dumpster Diving = Pretty and Sparkly!

Well this morning we were having too much fun making Christmas Cards!

I have to tell you how the card for this post came about: On one card we had used the snowflake punch with the Early Espresso CS. And we had the “negative” shapes left and tossed away. On another card we use my oh so favorite “Shimmer Mist”. I’ve asked the ladies to just take their cards and hold them over the trash can when they spray so we didn’t have to pull out the color catcher.

When I walked by the trash can, I saw a little treasure sitting in there staring at me :-) The negative shape of the snowflake, all pretty and glittery!

So of course, I had to pull it out and make it into a card! Here it is:

Contempo Snowflake

I used the Sizzix Adhesive Sheet to get adhesive on the back of the snowflake square. I thought it would only do that, but when I pulled it off, I had an adhesive film in the snowflake opening as well. I still stuck it onto the cream CS, but then I filled the snowflake opening with chunky glitter!  I’ve added a Glimmer Brad to the center…

The snowflakes in the background were stamped in Vanilla Craft ink…

The ribbon and greeting finish off the card…
