Rooted in Nature

Today we are having fun at Stamp-a-Stack and this card uses some brayering and splattering... Did I mention we are having fun? LOL

We used some typing paper with torn edges to cover up the outside areas... then brayered the the un-covered area in 3 colors...

Butterfly Gala

Today  I created a fun and colorful card that has a hidden technique of sorts... Take a look... These butterflies are flat not punched out... and the darker background is evenly surrounding them

I think the technique is called "Faux masking"... Normally when masking you stamp an image, then stamp it again on sticky paper... put that mask over the previously stamped image to protect it from the next step, which could be stamping another image over it to achieve a layered look or create a background.

Sometimes, holding the masks in place while brayering can be a little tricky... so you can resort to this technique... simply stamp and color your images first. Then use a blender pen and VersaMark ink refill to color over the image in the clear ink. Then heat emboss it with clear embossing powder. This will create a clear protection and you can brayer dark ink over top of lighter images to make them stand out like I did here. I did each butterfly individually... once done brayering, I used a dry cloth to wipe off ink from the top of the butterflies...
Oh and the lighter dots are simply water specks.... I used a toothbrush to flick water onto the brayered background... so much fun!
