Timeless Tropical - faux layer card

Today I felt a little artsy and wanted to try out the "faux layer" technique... here is the result:

Even though it looks as if the flowers are on a white "layer" on a Old Olive "card base" this is not the case... I masked off the center area and brayered the outer edges in Old Olive

And then to make the large flower appear in the foreground, I masked it and stamped the rest over it

By The Dock (February Stamp-a-Stack, Card #1)

I try to sneak in a more masculine card every now and then because we never seem to have those on hand...so for Stamp-a-Stack this month we made this card as one of the designs.

BTW there is a seagull (?) on a post on the left side of the dock on the stamp image... but I didn't want it here because we stamped directly on Soft Suede cardstock... so we just cut off the bird with scissors after we die-cut the whole image.

Snow Front -> Christmas Stamp-a-Stack

This is card #3 from this month's Christmas Stamp-a-Stack. I love the country feeling on this card!

The only thing "special" on this card is that the house sits in the forefront, which is achieved by "masking".... I stamped the house on the white layer first, then another time on a sticky note and cut it out to create the mask. Then placed the mask over the previously stamped house so I could then stamp the trees over it. Once done and the mask is removed, the house sits right in front of the trees ;-)
