It's the first Wednesday of the month and that means it's ICS blog hop time! Our theme is #iambringingbackbirthdays inspired by Shannon West one of the trainer's at Stampin' Up! She posted on her facebook page in January that social media had ruined the good old fashioned birthday card and she was bringing them back this year! I have to agree with that and I am following along in sending out more cards...
Here is my card for the blog hop
For club this month I was asked to show the "reflection" technique again and I was still in the mood to make another card with it... since it is so easy. I stamped the "original" on top in our basic black archival ink and colored in. Then I stamped the image in basic gray archival ink on a piece of window sheet, flipped it over, placed it underneath the original and gently applied some pressure to transfer the image... then colored it in as well but a little lighter.
Oh an back to the subject of #iambringingbackbirthdays ... Shannon also carved out a stamp to use on her cards. This idea really caught on - betting the post office is lovin' her! Stampin' Up! took that carved stamp and made a "real" one so we could all have too...
I am using it on the back of the envelopes... see:
Please be sure to hop on over to Nicole Smith to see what she came up with... and of course the rest of the crew... I am looking forward to see all of their creations!
