Ornate Thanks on a Diagonal Cut Card

I had received a swap card that I absolutely loved the layout and had planned to re-created... but the Sale-a-Bration time period ended before I could so I kept the card aside and decided to create with current items...

Here is my card for you guys:

Basically what I did was this:
- fold CS in half
- measure up 1 inch on the right side and 2 inches on the left side and use paper trimmer to cut the diagonal edge
- stamp
- decorate...
That simple!

BTW:
The DSP piece on the inside of card is 4 1/4 by 2
The Poppy Parade and Calypso Coral CS strips are 3/4 by 5 each so you have enough length to trim them down once they are on the card front

If you want more details than that and see how I added the colored cardstock strips on the diagonal, you can watch the little video:

Split Designer Series Paper

A while back I saw Patti B. post some small note cards where she used DSP cut apart diagonally and thought that was pretty neat.

So today I translated that idea into regular size greeting cards. Here is my first try:

I wanted the DSP layer to measure 5 by 3 3/4, but to be able to space the 2 pieces apart like that once cut on the diagonal, I started out with a piece that was 4 by 3 3/4!
The white layer behind is 5 1/8 by 3 7/8

Very easy actually!
