Mediterranean Achievers Blog Hop April - Baby Love

Welcome to the Grand Vacation Achievers Blog Hop for April. This month our theme is "Baby Love". We are sure you will find great inspiration from the projects that you are about to see.

If you are reading my blog in an email, please be sure to click over to my blog to see the hop list on the very bottom.

You may just be starting the blog hop here at my blog - Claudia Perry or may have come from the person previous to me in the list. If you get off track at any time, the full lineup below will help you move along from blog to blog so you see all the projects. At the moment you are visiting Claudia Perry.

Well, I have to confess that I rarely have to make baby cards because most of my friends and customers are not in that stage of life anymore. BUT wait there are the grand babies and great grand babies now! And as fate would have it, I needed 2 cards last week ;-) AND one is a boy and the other a girl... So I made the exact same card, but one in pink and one in blue.

Another little secret... YES, I colored the image in with my Blendabilities. I know, I know... we don't sell them anymore. BUT, this could be a reminder to those of you who do own them to pull them out and USE them ;-) And for those of you who don't have them, an image as small as this one could be colored in very easily with our markers too...

Thanks for taking part in our blog hop, there are so many amazing ideas and inspiration you don't want to miss. Remember that currently you are at my blog - Claudia Perry, so check the blog hop line up list on the very bottom of this post to see who is next in the list.

Welcome Baby!

I started to work on this baby card last week before I even knew that the theme over at Global Design Project would be be "baby" this week.

So I of course I put all the finishing touches on and posted to play along... Here is my baby card:

And just in case you're wondering how I created the mobile... It's actually a digital stamp from "My Digital Studio". Yes, I know it's not available anymore now. BUT some of you have it and still should use it ;-)   I pulled the stamp file over to my Silhouette Cameo software, traced it and made it into a cut file (but omitted the string of dots from the cut file).  I also printed it in very pale gray first, so I could then add the little ducks back in and also had perfect placement for all the rhinestones

See I have to resort to tricks like that because I literally don't own any baby stamps... very sad, I know. But that makes me think and be extra creative ;-)

I hope you enjoyed it and don't forget to check out the other ideas as well! You can jump over from here!

Happy Labor Day!

I just wanted to take a moment to refresh the meaning of Labor Day.. Here is the official definition:

Labor Day, the first Monday in September, is a creation of the labor movement and is dedicated to the social and economic achievements of American workers. It constitutes a yearly national tribute to the contributions workers have made to the strength, prosperity, and well-being of our country.

So happy Labor Day to all that contributed.

And now a play on the word "labor"... I thought it was fitting to post a baby card...

This is a card I've received in a swap that I've participated in recently. It was created by the talented demo Marilyn SanClemente. I love the special fold of this card... it's not to crazy but different enough... it can be duplicated fairly easy!

Here are some quick details for you:

The card base (Pool Party) = 8 by 4 1/4, scored at 3
The opening card (Watermelon Wonder) = 3 by 8, scored at 4
All DSP and CS layers are 1/4 inch smaller than the layer that they are on

Hello Baby!

Soooo - what do you do when you need a baby card and don't have any baby stamp sets? Gasp...I know! Well, I just honestly didn't think I would need those kind of stamps... Well, I turned to Pinterest (see here) and found a cute card, that I could make.  Like always, I did change it up a little bit!

Here is my take on it:

Since there weren't any directions on how to make those ruffled panties, I had to pretty much wing it. I started with a square of cardstock and used the large oval punch for the leg openings. And then I "eye-balled" the rest. While I like how it turned out, I know for sure that I won't be able to re-created this card. So it will be an original for sure LOL.

I hope you like it and it will inspire you with your projects...

Here is the Collage of all the versions:

And since the card are so much fun, I thought I should share the larger pictures as well:

These all use the same card base and DSP stack! The only difference is the little strip on the left to make it work with the Balloon... You too, can whip out a whole stack of cards, especially following this example ;-) Have fun stamping!
