Positive Thoughts and custom striped paper

Today I looked through the new catalog to verify that we were carrying over the "Positive Thoughts" stamp set and was so happy to see that it is true... And noticed the very pretty card and thought well let me look at the poppies DSP for the green striped paper... but then saw that it was not DSP but hand painted! Of course I had to try my hand at that... here is my card:

And here is the original from the catalog, which I totally CASE'd with minor changes...

I really liked making my own striped paper using the Watercolor paper, old olive ink and Aqua Painter... and think I may just do that more often!

Thoughtful Blooms - square card

Today I wanted to copy a card I had seen online. The original had the circle stamped yellow, which is from "Swirly Frames" ... but since I don't own this set, I had to improvise!

To get the thin circle cut-out, I first die-cut the smaller circle into the cardstock and then placed the larger, stitched circle over the hole and die-cut again...I had to use the fine-tip glue to adhere it to the card.. which I forgot to list below... sorry .. it is found here: https://bit.ly/2wqPagV

Love what You do - CASE a card

My sweet friend Marcia gave me 2 pretty cards on the incentive trip and today I decided to CASE one of them with stamps that I own...

Here is Marcia's card:

And here is my version:

The background was achieved by inking up the inside (side with label) of the "Subtle" embossing folder in Blackberry Bliss prior to sending it through the BigShot. It came out neat!

I did a tiny bit of blending with my Stampin' Blends markers.. I just love playing with them!

And I have a confession to make... I used the stamp set "Thoughtful Banners", which is retired... yikes. But it was still sitting with confidence in my "current" stamps. What an impostor! It will now be sent to the retirement home...LOL However, you can used any stamp set that YOU like of course... if you decide to re-create our cards...
