Stamp and Sip

Oh boy! I am so bad in posting lately... too many fun new things to do in our new home state ;-)

We had an online Sip and Stamp in July and August! We always enjoy to hang out together and craft and chat.

In July I had challenged the ladies to use a stamp set that they had not used in a while or ever.

So I went straight to my retired favorites and made a couple of cards!

Thank you for stopping by!

Thoughtful Branches and retired items

Hmmmm - today I am off a bit it seems... Cause I paired the "Thoughtful Branches" with not 1 but TOW retired items.

BUT since I made the card, I AM going to show it to you... maybe it was because my favorite bundle will be retired in 2 days as well?

Here it is:

Yep, the chevron embossing folder AND the designer frame embossing folder ... both are gone and I had not taken them out of my embossing folders yet. Guess what I am doing tomorrow...

BTW - to colors used are Delightful Dijon and Early Espresso..

Retired and Recycled!

My friend Kim, always puts the prettiest tags on the bag of swap cards when she turns them in. So I kept one with the plan of making it into a card.

See:

I took the liberty to color in the lemon, tear off the bottom and then sponge the edges...
The lemon is from a retired set, which I don't own, so shame on me... I don't even remember the name of it... And the ribbon is retired as well.... sorry

But the rest is current ;-)

Happy Retirement

Today we are going to a military Retirement party and I needed a card to go with our gift.

So I combined old with new and came up with this card:

retire

The “old” is the retired stamp set “Godspeed” and the “new” are the “Framelits”… another little sneak peek of the new mini catalog.

I so wanted to use shimmer spray, but refrained from it, because I could just hear my husband critique that Smile  Shimmer and Military or guys in general do not go together, I guess. So I did some  heavy sponging and popped the layer up with dimensionals.

The banner has 2 score lines on each side of the sentiment so I was able to bend the CS. The brads are just decoration and the banner has a stack of 2 dimensionals under the greeting…

Happy Fourth of July

I know… I am a day early. BUT, I wanted to make sure that I have the chance to say “Happy Fourth of July” to all of you. I am pretty sure that the majority of you will not be on the computer tomorrow, but will spend time with your loved ones. So I thought better a day early.

And now I can share my cards that I made for this special occasion:

july 4th1

I used the retired stamp set “July Fourth” which I may have to hold on to for a little longer … I also used the Sizzix die “Tasteful Trim” for the scallop borders and the Star die for well… the stars Smile Since I had to cut several of the stars so I could layer them the way I wanted to, I also had some leftovers. And thought they should go on the inside of the card:

july 4th open

Let’s hope that tomorrow the weather will stay nice and we all can enjoy some outdoor activities.

Have a wonderful day!

Here fishy, fishy, fishy... !

I just can't contain myself - LOL. Just wait until you look at the card!

OK so I got to play with the Sweet Treat Cups and the Sweet Centers Stamp Set and REALLY love them. The card that I made for stamp club I can't share ... because well, it's THEIR privilege :-)

BUT I have something.... I bought several different snacks to put in those containers and one of them were Gummy Worms...

My husband is going on a weekend fishing trip tomorrow and since he's worked so very hard and long hours I wanted to do something nice for him. I made a snack bag for on the way and put a note in it :-) Of course NOT just a plain note!

Here is the card:

fishies

And once the treats are removed, the card looks like this:

fishies2

I've learned about this little trick from Gretchen Barron. You make a "lid" for the treat cup that is either a 2 1/2 inch circle or square, fill cup with treats and close with lid. Then the cup is attached to inside of card with a few glue dots! How neat is that!?

Sorry, the stamp sets are retired but they worked so great for this occasion!

I can't wait for Rob to come home so I can give him the treat bag :-)
