Happy Retirement
Today we are going to a military Retirement party and I needed a card to go with our gift.
So I combined old with new and came up with this card:
The “old” is the retired stamp set “Godspeed” and the “new” are the “Framelits”… another little sneak peek of the new mini catalog.
I so wanted to use shimmer spray, but refrained from it, because I could just hear my husband critique that Shimmer and Military or guys in general do not go together, I guess. So I did some heavy sponging and popped the layer up with dimensionals.
The banner has 2 score lines on each side of the sentiment so I was able to bend the CS. The brads are just decoration and the banner has a stack of 2 dimensionals under the greeting…

Happy Fourth of July
I know… I am a day early. BUT, I wanted to make sure that I have the chance to say “Happy Fourth of July” to all of you. I am pretty sure that the majority of you will not be on the computer tomorrow, but will spend time with your loved ones. So I thought better a day early.
And now I can share my cards that I made for this special occasion:
I used the retired stamp set “July Fourth” which I may have to hold on to for a little longer … I also used the Sizzix die “Tasteful Trim” for the scallop borders and the Star die for well… the stars Since I had to cut several of the stars so I could layer them the way I wanted to, I also had some leftovers. And thought they should go on the inside of the card:
Let’s hope that tomorrow the weather will stay nice and we all can enjoy some outdoor activities.
Have a wonderful day!

Here fishy, fishy, fishy... !
I just can't contain myself - LOL. Just wait until you look at the card!
OK so I got to play with the Sweet Treat Cups and the Sweet Centers Stamp Set and REALLY love them. The card that I made for stamp club I can't share ... because well, it's THEIR privilege :-)
BUT I have something.... I bought several different snacks to put in those containers and one of them were Gummy Worms...
My husband is going on a weekend fishing trip tomorrow and since he's worked so very hard and long hours I wanted to do something nice for him. I made a snack bag for on the way and put a note in it :-) Of course NOT just a plain note!
Here is the card:
And once the treats are removed, the card looks like this:
I've learned about this little trick from Gretchen Barron. You make a "lid" for the treat cup that is either a 2 1/2 inch circle or square, fill cup with treats and close with lid. Then the cup is attached to inside of card with a few glue dots! How neat is that!?
Sorry, the stamp sets are retired but they worked so great for this occasion!
I can't wait for Rob to come home so I can give him the treat bag :-)
