April Blog Hop (Maui Incentive Trip Achievers)

Welcome to our monthly Blog Hop for the Maui Incentive trip achievers!  I can't wait to see what the other participants will share with us...

If you are reading my blog in an email, please be sure to click over to my blog to see all of the samples and the hop list underneath...

While we are all dealing with the current situation and adhering to Shelter -in-place orders, our time to craft with friends has be cut out of our lives for time being... So I hosted a ZOOM meeting with some of my crafting friends where we would craft in our own homes in front of the camera and chat.. and sip...

I challenged them to a"theme" ..  this time I asked them to chose 1 piece of Designer Series Paper, a max. of 2 coordinating colors of cardstock, they can add neutrals and it had o have a die-cut shape or punched shape. Embellishments were ok to use.

I chose the pretty new DSP "Ornate Garden" and coordinating cardstock in Terracotta Tile and Daffodile Delight. ..I came up with this fairly simple card myself...

Please keep in mind I had to "entertain" the ladies or get the conversations started and help everyone with the technology aspect as much as I could... since it was pretty new to all of us... LOL

I was pretty excited that I remembered an old trick... I adhered the 2 daisies together, punched a hole in the center.... tied a double knot into the ribbon and then fed both end of the ribbon from the front to the back and adhered the ends so that the ribbon will not pull back out...

You may just be starting the blog hop here at my blog - Claudia Perry or may have come from the person previous to me in the list. If you get off track at any time, the full lineup below will help you move along from blog to blog so you see all the projects. At the moment you are visiting Claudia Perry

Little Ladybug

At stamp club we used the detailed hearts cut-out as a stencil and sponged Flirty Flamingo ink over it. By the time we all did the make-and-take the white hearts looked more like Poppy Parade... since I wanted to use the "stencil" as an actual background on my card today, I simply applied some real red ink over it to get it all darker....

I used a piece of washi tape on the rubber stamp were the ladybug is holding the flower... then inked it up and removed the tape prior to stamping. This way it didn't stamp the blossom...

Christmas Gleaming in Silver

I took some time off from posting due to Thanksgiving and my busy pet sitting schedule and then I tried to play catch up last week and had lots to do with Stamp clubs... but... now I am back!

And it felt so good to be creative early this morning! Here is my sparkly creation:

You might think ... "what a waste - using a large piece of glimmer paper for a card layer that is totally covered up"?! WELLLLLL - you see I had a scrap piece of glimmer paper that I die cut and punched shapes from and used it under the white layer... perfectly covering up the holes!

When looking at the punched shapes, you can even tell that the small ornament went into the other shape and has a little notch clipped out on the right side...so I strategically layered the stamped/detailed ornament over that part ;-)
