Let's talk Paper Quality

So today I am going to share a card with you that you may think has NOTHING to do with Stampin' Up! Well, you are wrong. LOL

Yes, I did not stamp anything on this card .... BUT I used Stampin' Up! cardstock to cut the Viking shape with my silhouette cameo (which I copied and traced myself and is not for re-sale)... And of course used our cardstock for layering as well.  But the main reason why I am talking about cardstock today, is to point out for those of you that may not know yet.. we now have white cardstock in the same thick high quality as our colored cardstock. And that my friend is priceless. If you ever made full cards from white cardstock using our old whisper white cs then you know what I am talking about. It felt flimsy because it is thinner. Well it is wonderful for stamping on but for the card base, you really want to use our thick white cardstock! You just don't know how happy this cardstock option makes me!

The card I made is large! It's a full sheet of cs folded in half so it's measuring 8 1/2 by 5 1/2 and feels just great...

The greeting is printed using the "viking" font that I downloaded for free from dafont.com... I actually used the print and cut feature for it ;-)

I hope you'll consider using the thick white cardstock for your cardbased in the future... you will love it!

Galena’s gifts for her doggie friends

Before Christmas we had another meeting with our furry friends, the group called “Great Danes and friends at play” and Galena had asked me nicely to make some treats for her friends for Christmas. Well of course I had to help her out.

She used her allowance and bought some “candy cane” chewies for them. So I set out and made some cute holders!

 

 

Quick info: I used a tag shape in the software and added 2 cut lines in the center so the treat could be slit through and held. The paw cut out is from MDS… and then of course, I stamped a greeting! So you see, it all can be combined

And I thought I’d share a pic from that day with you that shows her with some of her friends

and that was just a part of the group. They always have so much fun!

My Digital Studio, Paper Pumpkin and Silhouette Cameo = Heaven!

Oh boy I just REALLY love when my favorite things work so well together!

You may wonder, what now… Well, I am excited to tell you that I created a Logo in My Digital Studio, opened it in the Silhouette Cameo Software… sized it down and added a cut box around it AND added scallops (several circles side by side… welded to the box)… Then the best of it… I used the print and cut function AND it worked perfectly. Can you tell that I am just a bit excited?!

See that cute little tote with the handles, strings and clothe pins? That was a Paper Pumpkin Kit one month… I may not always use the kits right away, but sure am glad to have my own subscription, you can get one too or give as gift! See here!

In case you wonder what is in the little tote… some small fliers to hand out to other Great Dane or Giant Breed Dog owners so they can join us on Facebook and come meet with our dogs for play dates. My talented Friend Theresa is selling Greeting Cards at Market Days downtown Columbus and offered to have them there… How nice of her! I also put some tiny dog bones in the tote to hand out to the furry friends

Play Time

Oh I just had too much fun this morning! I played with the “print and cut” feature on my Silhouette Cameo… using a file from “My Digital Studio”. It’s way easier than I thought it would be!!

Now I do want to point out that, YES – I used the Blendabilities on my printed out butterfly and also listed them below… BUT they are still not available as of yet. I will make a big announcement to you all so we can bombard them with orders Stampin’ Up just don’t want them to go on backorder due to short inventory from manufacturer…

Then a little tip: You MUST use wax paper between the cardstock and the “Striped Scallop” die to make the cut pattern come out of the die way easy once cut!

This is a very easy card and could go into mass production…

You can see how much bigger this butterfly is. It just didn’t work with my card layout and the colors too… Soooo I will have to make another card later on Can’t let it go to waste…

Not the usual Greeting Card

… I would say! I thought about if I should share this birthday card with you guys or not, but decided you might at least enjoy the artsy look…

My friend Sandra’s birthday was about a week ago and last night we went out to eat, and I couldn’t wait for her to see her birthday card. She is one of my shooting buddies. Part of her birthday gift was a gift card to our weekly hang-out so she can add it to her 9mil funds. Of course I wanted a “matching” card to put it in.

Here is the outside:

I found an SVG file of the gun and modified to make it into an actual card that opens and cut it out with my silhouette cameo. It started out with gray textured cardstock because I had run out of black 12x12 CS. So then I did a little “direct to paper” with my black inkpad and then stamped Beautiful Baroque and Hello Doily over it randomly with white StazOn ink… sponged the edges with silver encore ink. The inside has a greeting and the “holster” for the gift card:

This project combined my 3 favorite hobbies… stamping, using my e-cutter and going to the range
